What Causes Vomiting Followed By Fever?

Our son didn t eat dinner last Wednesday evening and didn t seem to be feeling well. Awhile later he threw up. That was the only time. Since Thursday he has been running a fever from ~99.5 up to 102.8F. He is responding to fever reducer which brings it back down to normal, but then it will spike back up suddenly to around 102. Starting yesterday (Saturday) evening, he has started to have nasal congestion. He had slight coughing starting Friday afternoon. Nothing deep or hacking. No phlegm so far from either coughing or nose. Doesn t sound extremely congested in nasal area or chest.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It looks like he is suffering from the flu or influenza.

He can take Tylenol for fever and relieve congestion since it contains pseudoephedrine.

Give him ginger tea for nausea and vomiting also other types of teas.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
