What Causes Vomiting, Lack Of Appetite And Abdominal Pain?

My son who is 46 years old and is having the symptoms listed. The symptoms started Tuesday evening. He threw up violently on Tuesday evening and is still not feeling well.... has been off work for 2 days. He has eaten only crackers and Gatorade and it has stayed down. However he has no appetite. He also has acid reflux/gerd for at least 10 years. He is 6 ft 2 inches and is overweight. He and his wife ate the same food Tuesday night except he had some Blue Bell Ice Cream and she did not. His upper abdomen under the rib cage is hurting, pain level 6 or 7. He has been taking ibuprophen. Your help please?

Hello,

Your son is having symptoms of gastroenteritis. He has a history of GERD & is obese.

He has been stressed out since 2 days & did not take substantial food. Taking blue bell ice cream could have triggered the symptoms.

Presently, you are suggested to give him anti-emetic to stop him from throwing out (stop vomiting)Pepto-Bismol or Phenargan, one sos when needed.

Spasmol(Spasmoproxyvon) one sos when needed will relieve abdominal pain.

He can take antacids & PPI's for relieve. In case he is very restless he should visit ER & get medical aid urgently. Get him clinically examined & treated at the earliest. Help him stay well hydrated.
