What Causes Vomiting, Mild Fever And Headache Of A 5 Year Old?

Hello,Our 5-year-old daughter has about a dozen small red bumps with lighter red heads around her groin, buttocks and upper inner thighs. She has had one for about four days that didn t look problematic at the time and seemed to fade and then we noticed the others today. She had a low fever and some vomiting and complained of a bad headache a week ago which we thought was the flu as she did not get the flu mist this season. She has had the chicken pox and all other immunizations thus far. Thank you for any advice tonight as our doctor office doesn t open for another 12 hours although she isn t in pain.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of vomiting, mild fever and headache which seems to be viral fever or flu. It could be due to poor and compromised immunity of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to drink plenty of fluids, have proper rest. Take anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to prevent fever and body-ache. Your symptoms will resolve in 3-4 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit general physician once and get it examined and start treatment after proper examination and prescription. Go for blood tests as well to find out exact pathology. Do warm saline gargles. Take analgesic such as Flexon and take light diet.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
