What Causes Vomiting Upon Taking Cyclobenzaprine On An Empty Stomach?

Not to long ago I started taking cyclobenzaprine 10 mg 3x daily and when I don t eat with it I get sick and vomit. This only happens sometimes other times I have eaten and I still get sick is this an allergic reaction or do I need to do something else

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is due to gastritis. Cyclobenzaprine is known to aggrevate gastritis and it is not recommended to take on empty stomach. Take the drug only after food. You can take antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole along with it to prevent attacks of gastritis and vomiting. Pantop -D is a combination drug containing Pantoprazole and Domperidone is the the best.
