What Causes Vomiting With Black Tar Like Substance And Yellow Mucus?

is it normal to throw up a black tar looking substance as well as a yellow(ish) mucus? i am a smoker of about 6 years and have never experienced this before to this extent. it happened about 20 minutes after having a cigarette so it s hard to see a direct connection from smoking to this occurrence but its still a great possibility. i m asking this question to find out the cause of this, what it means, how it happens, and what can this be a sign of?

It is a serious problem... the black vomitus needs to be checked out for blood. As u are a smoker u may be having a gastric ulcer which can lead to vomiting. The blood collected in stomach becomes blackish in color. So smoking is related to it in an indirect manner. The symptoms of gastric ulcer are "acidity problem", abdominal pain on eating, loss of weight. Smoking is a common cause, another cause can be a H pylori bacteria)infection. Get a review done by Gastro-enterolgist and havae an endoscopy done.
