What Causes Vomiting,headaches And Stomach Pain While Taking Methylprednisolone?

For 12 hours 56 year old wife has vomiting, cannot even keep water or a cracker down, head ache, low grade fever. Had eggs and toast last night for dinner, now has stomach pain from dry heaves. When vomiting began nothing but liquid came up.Has been taking methylprednisolone steroids for 3 days to reduce swelling of nerves in back. Nurse said if there was going to be a reaction it would be in first couple of days.

Hello,

Vomiting, headache and pain abdomen may be adverse effects of methylprednisolone. But don't stop the drug abruptly. Slowly taper the dosage. Food poisoning is another condition with similar symptoms. The treatment for your symptoms is tab. Ondansetron, tab. Acetaminophen if fever persists. Tab. Cyclopam if pain abdomen is severe. If your symptoms don't relieve in 2 days, you need to see a doctor.
