What Causes Warm Skin Along With Itching While On Provigil?

I just started taking provigil about 5 days ago and I noticed 2 things that make me curious..I sometimes feel sort of hot and itchy after taking it, but no skin rash or bumps or anything so I'm not sure if that is a side effect or a true allergic reaction? The second thing is that when I drink, I have maybe a beer or 2 a couple times a week, it seems like it makes me tired..is that normal or could it maybe be the benadryl I'm taking that makes me tired when mixed with the provigil?

I can understand your concern. Provigil is Modafinil and the drug is used in patients of poor energy, tiredness especially associated with depression. The drug acts like a stimulant drug and thus some times result in symptoms like warm skin, itching etc. The drug should be taken in morning after breakfast and these symptoms will reduce in some days. No need to worry.

The symptoms of tiredness, fatigue you are having on taking alcohol is most probably the reaction with Benadryl. Benadryl is an antihistaminic drug and cause drowsiness. Taking alcohol with this drug result in additive effects and you are having symptoms like tiredness. Try to avoid alcohol and benadryl. Both these drugs will aggravate your depressive symptoms. Please consult your psychiatrist for any persistent symptoms.
