What Causes Warts On The Side Of The Big Toe?

My daughter has some warts on the side of her big toe. The pediatrician tried to freeze them off last year and have her use a medicated patch afterwards. They not only did not go away but are spreading. It also seems like there is a corn either onto or under one of the warts. I m trying to decide if I should take her to a dermatologist or a podiatrist to be most quickly and correctly treated before she goes back to College in the fall.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Warts are caused by a kind of viral infection. Nothing much to worry as it can easily removed by various techniques. It seems like you have done cryosurgery, but recurrence is common after cryosurgery. You can consult a dermatologist and plan for cauterisation which has got efficacy and recurrence rate is low.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
