Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Water Blisters On The Lower Right Part Of The Penis Shaft?
I had tiny water blisters, a cluster of about 8 on the lower right side of my penis shaft. This occured about 3 days after unprotected sex. Only symptom was itching overnight and when i woke up i saw the blisters. Scared, i quickly popped them to see if they were just ingrown hairs from shaving earlier that day. When i popped them clear fluid came out and the blisters went down and healed very quickly. There was never any pain with the blisters or during urination. The blisters scabbed over and healed within 3 days or so. Chances of this being herpes seem pretty substantial.
Vesicles (blisters with water) in the genital area days after unprotected intercourse are very likely related to herpes. Because the blisters have already subsided there is no specific treatment needed for the herpes infection at the moment. On the other hand, you will need some tests to rule out other sexually transmitted diseases as these may travel together.
The recommended tests would be blood tests for syphilis, HBV, HCV, HIV, and tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician.
