What Causes Water Filled Blister At The Site Of Incision Post A Surgery?

Hello. My boyfriend had his gallbladder removed 6 days ago. After coming home and removing bandages he got this big water filled blister right in between the incision site. It has busted a couple of times and it looks bad to me. He also has multiple smaller water filled blisters all over. This one is just huge like the size of a half dollar. Any suggestions on what we should do next?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

He may need to be reassessed to check the incision site because it is possible that it may be infection and antibiotics may be required. He should contact the surgeon that performed the procedure.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
