Thank you for your query.
I believe Congratulations are in order!
Pregnancy brings about a host of changes (physically, hormonally, emotionally) to your body.
The first trimester (three months) see a lot of rapidly occuring change, for yourself and your baby.
The embryo has just implanted in your
uterus and is laying the foundation for his/her new home for the next 9 months. This involves changes in your uterus (enlargement and thickening) that feels like pressure.
This is particularly noticeable when it pushes against your bladder, making you wish you had a mobile toilet.
In addition to the changes in the Uterus, the surrounding muscles also change to facilitate the growing uterus ( under the influence of hormones).
The surge and play of hormones can provoke repeated episodes of
vomiting (morning sickness- a misnomer, as it can occur anytime during the day), increased discharge (watery or creamy), mood swings, breast changes (engorgement, darkening of the
areola )
The initial symptoms usually ease up in the second trimester when the hormones stabilize and the uterus moves up higher (due to its size) and relieves pressure on your bladder.
No blood is great news. Pregnancy can bring along
anxiety about the health of your baby at every step of the way. Try to relax and distract yourself in healthy fun ways.
An
ultrasound which detects the fetal heartbeat at about 6 weeks (transvaginal) or at 8weeks (abdominal) will reassure you.
Make sure you see your
OBGYN right away for the required supplements and to schedule Antenatal care.
Wish you both good health. Please get back to us if you have further queries.
