What Causes Watery Eyes And Severe Cough Post Bleach Exposure?
13 days ago I was cleaning the floor with straight bleach. I noticed that around the toilet it was foaming up then realized that someone had left toilet bowl cleaner on floor too. I couldn t just leave all the bleach on the floor so I finished what I started. Then my eyes started to water bad and I started to cough and I started to sweat which may have been because I was hot. Anyhow It took a while for me to get good air in my lungs about 4hours passed and I felt better. My clothes I was wearing too several washings to get the fumes out of them. Now I feel like I cant catch a deep breath. I find myself sighing and taking a deep breath. Do you think anything else could be wrong

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
I see possibility of allergic bronchitis. Please consult a chest physician. Get yourself examined, investigated as per need. Antihistaminic / steroid if needful, broncho dilators with needful antibiotic to combat infection and inflammation. It would be needed in doses according to your personal need. Don't worry, you should be fine after proper treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
