I have druise in my right eye. i am now experiencing wavy lines. If this is wet age related macular degeneration, what treatment is available and what are the possible prognoses? I have made an appointment with my opthamologist, but am anxious for information.
Hello It seems from the history that you are having drusens in the right eye and having complaints of seeing wavy lines. This needs to be examined to rule out age related macular degenration. Wet type of age related macular degeneration is more serious one and it can lead to irreversible loss of vision if not treated properly. The treatment is by use of antioxidants, intravitreal injections of antivascular endothelial growth factors or steroids. The prognosis is good if treatment is started early and complications are prevented. Hence I advice you to consult ophthalmologist or preferably retina specialist for examination and treatment accordingly at the earliest.
Thank you
