What Causes Wax Like Odorous Discharge From Navel?
I recently had triple hernia surgery. I now have a waxy and ordorus discharge coming from my belly button. I never had this problem before. They surgeon said there is not and infection and there is nothing he can do surgically to fix it. I can t have this going on forever... there has to be a way to fix it. Help???
As per my clinical experience, the wax like odorous discharge from navel is definitely in concern with chronic omphalitis issue from gram positive bacteria in most instances as staph aureus or others. The diagnostic work up requires a culture sensitivity report of the discharge contained in a sterile container and reported by expert microbiologist.
In my clinic, after due course of sensitive antibiotics, if there is no appropriate response to the therapy, I do recommend surgery of omphalectomy as permanent cure. You can opt for second opinion of another surgeon in this regard.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
