What Causes Weak Hair And Brittle Nail, While On Plavix And Atorvastatin?
I had great hair and nails. Can medications (Plavix and Atorvastatin) cause hair and nails to become brittle and nails thready? My nails have developed threads like celery and split along those lines as well as shattering. My hair is becoming thin fast and I think mostly from braking off, but it tangles even when I use conditioner. My skin is not young but it may not show as much change as my nails and hair in the last three months. Thanks, Linda
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. No these problems doesn't occur with plavix and atorvastatin. It's a sign of vitamins deficiency. I would like to advise to take multivitamins like surbex z, calcium and vitamin D supplements. Do regular aerobic excersize. Include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Take your best care. Hope it helps best. Don't forget to rate this answer and close the discussion at Healthcare Magic. Regards Dr Ejaz
