What Causes Weak Urine Flow Post TURP Surgery?

I had a TURP a week ago. The day after the surgery, the catheter was removed and my flow was quite good but I failed to completely void the bladder. A catheter was reinserted; it was removed yesterday (after wearing it for 5 days. Today, however, the urine flow is very weak--like back to square one!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Mostly normal urine outflow is scribed within4-6 weeks of TURP surgery. Delay in returning to normal after 6weeks needs a surgeon's consultation.

Any urinary complaint like burning, pain frequency with incontinence needs to be reported to surgery.

Please continue with medication &urine aviation more frequently. Urination in hand on knees posture give relief to few patients.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
