What Causes Weakness And Arm Pain In Children?

My 4 year old son has been complaining the past 2 days every time he sits down to eat that his arms hurt (top of forearm area) he said they feel tired and too heavy to pick up his food. He said it feels like they are failing down. Could this be growing pains or what could be going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is possible that it is growing pain or could be associated with some minor ligament injury. I would suggest icing it for a 4-7 days (3 times a day). If it persists, you can have some imaging done of the elbow. If the pain is severe, you can give him paracetamol or other medicines that you use for fever at the same dosage.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
