Hi,
Regarding the reports of your son, level of Vitamin D is definitely low and you are taking the treatment for this deficiency. About Eiosinophelia, as eisonophil count is mildly raised, which may indicate some short of allergies, particularly with fungal or
parasitic infection. However, this raised level is non-specific & may be present in multiple conditions.
Hence no definitive diagnosis should be made just due to raised
eosinophil. It is always advised to go for repeat counting after some time before going for exhaustive search for the definitive diagnosis. Also, if you are not having any symptom, the waiting period may be even longer, before taking the investigations for definitive diagnosis.
About
ESR, with due regards to your doctor, I will like to say that, it is also a non-specific test and no definitive diagnosis should be made just on the basis of a raised ESR only. Though it is a commonly performed test by laboratories with a time honored role, but it is losing its significance, as the more specific tests for diagnosis of diseases are presenting. However, extreme raised ESR, near or above 100, is having still diagnostic value for some of serious diseases.
But in your case ESR, is just mildly raised, which seems insignificant. Even some laboratories take the normal range up to 20. Hence, in my opinion, you may ignore it, if no other positive finding is there. At the most, you may get it repeated, after some time and if it is raised more than this, it may show some significance. Also, ESR does not affect the count of
RBC, rather a reduced count of RBC will raise ESR.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
