What Causes Weakness In Extremities And Left-sided Abdominal Pain When Diagnosed With UTI?
Where can I find information on the physical effects if an UTI in seniors? My Mom (79 yrs) lost all strenght in her legs and arms, slouched to her left side unable to sit straight in a chair. Unable to move to move her as she couldn t stand on her feet we called an ambulance toget her to the hospital. They diagnosed her with a UTI stating it was the cause of her physical strenght loss but everything I read says UTIs have mentqal not physical effects on the body.

I think the UTI may be the cause of her symptoms. The weakness and tiredness may be because of pain. An uroculture is needed to find the bacteria which is causing it a d which antibiotic works best.
Also a blood test is needed and biochemical blood balance to check for possible other issues.
