What Causes Weakness In The Index Finger?

I am experiencing weakness mostly in my index finger, left hand. I understand this is caused by the Median nerve. My question is what can I do to correct this problem without surgery. Causes are difficulty buttoning shirts, dropping objects, general clumsiness. No pain, no discomfort of any kind and no numbness. Just weakness.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely carpal tunnel syndrome. A nerve conduction study will be helpful to rule out this. Carpal tunnel release will be helpful in such case.
