What Causes Weakness In The Legs And Sudden Urge To Urinate?
Thank you! During the past two weeks my legs have become very weak. My husband and I tried to go walking in the park today and I just could not go on after a short time. My doctor had thought I had slight vertigo due to sinus trouble so he gave me a once -a-day antihistamine but, after five days I still have the leg weakness plus sudden urges to urinate urgently. I called him today and he said this sounds very unusual (my health having been so good until now) and he is now going to schedule me to get aa work up with a neurologist. What please do you think this indicates?
Urgent urination describes an overwhelming need to get to a restroom immediately. It may be accompanied by pain or discomfort in the bladder or urinary tract. Urinary tract infections are the most common cause of frequent or urgent urination.
Other causes include: drinking too much liquid, drinking caffeinated or alcoholic beverages, diabetes, pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, when there is pressure on the bladder medications, vaginal infections or prostate enlargement.
It’s possible that frequent or urgent urination could be normal for you if you don’t have other symptoms. The treatment plan for frequent or urgent urination is largely dependent on the cause. Antibiotics can help treat infections. Lifestyle changes such as monitoring liquid consumption and urine output or adjusting medications can help some people.
