What Causes Weakness In The Upper Leg After Withdrawing From Ativan?
I have been takling Restoril or temazepam after getting off Ativan I am experiencing unusually weak upper legs ( thighs) I am a 71 year old woman I wonder if I should start tapering off but I am very nervous about sleeping -- trouble with that for much of my life But I don t want to keep taking a Benzo!!! dilemma!! I haven t tried all the natural options either.
Yes, Benzodiazepines may be difficult to quit after prolonged use. Generally, the method is to switch to a long acting one that is Diazepam. However, weakness in the thighs are not always because of it. Sometimes muscle problems or even calcium and vitamin D deficiency may also cause weakness here. So just talk to your doctor to see if anything else may be causing you weakness otherwise we can stop benzo as stated above.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
