Greetings
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
As you must have noticed that she has is being treated with two types of medication - one is the Heart and the other is Epilepsy.
Most important is the epilepsy medication in case of the Weakness and the funny feeling in the head. these medication are known for varying degree of
sedation and the patient feels sleepy and generally weak due to the medication. But extent of sleepiness can only be commented based on the specific medicine being used.
Secondly is that as she has Afib , there might be medication which might reduce the heart rate and blood preasure to keep the heart beating rhythem normal. Here it is inportant to know the blood pressure .Usually patients have long standing high blood pressure and when these patient's blood pressures are reduced , they usually feel weak and lethargic.
Now to come on the failing kidney functions , it is important to know what problems she has had in the past and if any recent admissions to hospital. some degree of disturbed kidney functions might happen in the elderly. Then it depends on the level of kidney laboratory investigations and whether they are rising or falling. For this it is advised to consult your physician. But not all kidney problems are matter of serious concern.
The last question is what can you do to help. Well maintaining a good blood pressure and epilepsy episode free is important. Latter on with the consent of you physician you can reduce the dose of epilepsy medication which will make your mother feel less sleepi and weak.

i hope the answer was helpfull. In case you have any further questions then feel free to contact us in writing.
