Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a total hysterectomy in 2012 due to fibroid tumors...12 pounds, 3 ounces to be exact. I have been gaining weight lately but over the past 3 days i have been having pain right on my bikini line just above my pubic area. I will occasionally have what seems to be gas pains as well. I am not constipated yet I am bloated and am very soar when I walk around. What in the world could it be? dp
Acute weight gain or appearance of weight gain would likely be due to fluid or gas (bloating). Gas accumulation is most commonly due to diet, reflux and constipation. In terms of diet, the most common foods are: cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, turnips, beans, carbonated drinks, spicy foods.
The use of anti-acids may help with this symptom along with diet changes if needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
