What Causes Weight Gain Along With Abdominal Bloating And Flatulence?
I am waiting to hear from my doctor regarding my thyroid level blood test. I have gone in search of help with my symptoms such as surprising weight gain (seemingly unaffected by eating and exercise), fogginess of the brain, worsening eye sight and severe issues with bloating and noxious gas (a lot of gas). the levels are FSH 3.0, LH 3.o, T4 (free, serum) 0.9, T3 (total, serum) 108.3, TSH .75. I live in a rural area and waiting for a response takes a good deal of time- what do these numbers mean? Thank you in advance for any help.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It does not look like your thyroid is the issue. Your thyroid blood tests are all within normal range. The FSH/LH numbers just mean that you are not in menopause. You will probably need further testing to figure out the cause. Evaluation of the liver would be important if that has not already been done. Try limiting your diet to simple foods like baked chicken, rice, and cooked fruits for a while and adding a probiotic daily.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
