What Causes Weight Gain And Acne With Rise In Stress Level?

I ve been under a significant amount of stress lately. Iveb been doing better with my eating but am fairly sedentary. In the past two days alone (not related to holiday indulgences, I was good!), my scale has gone up 4 LBS and today my chin has completely broken out in acne bumps (no heads). I ve had an upset stomach the last few weeks on and off (i.e.: gas, sensitivity). Why the high weight gain and acne breakout?!?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

If there was no change in diet changes such as the use of high calorie or high carbohydrate foods then the increased weight over a short period time may be due to fluid retention or bloating.

The bloating would also contribute to the upset stomach that you are experiencing.
The use of reflux medications would help eg nexium, prevacid, prilosec, protonix, aciphex. These medications can take a few days to have an effect, sometimes 5 to 7 days.

Weight gain can be associated with acne. Acne can be treated with a combination of factors such as benzoyl peroxide, topical or oral antibiotics or topical or oral retinoids.

The antibiotics and retinoids may need to prescribed by a doctor.

I hope this helps
