What Causes Weight Gain And Bloating After Taking Thyronorm?

I have been diagonised with thyroid last year in April with Tsh as 19 . Doc gave me Thyronorm 37.5mcg and my thyroid came in control to 1.9 in few weeks. Continued same medication and in oct 2016 when i tested tsh was 0.4 and i was have a lot of muscle aches so the doc changed my dosage to 25 mcg. Now in January i felt very bloated and my periods did not come from 2 months and weight increased 2 kgs suddenly in 2 weeks time.. so when got tested my Tsh was 23 and free T4 was .9 . Now doc moved me to Eltroxin 50 mcg. Weight is still increasing no improvement in energy and my throat hurts a lot when i talk loud! Pls help me!

Hi,

The dose of Thyronorm or the Thyronorm itself does not seem to be work for you.

The alternative, Eltroxin, may be effective, the dose may need to adjust till it reaches a dose that works for you.

The T3 may also need to be tested to see if this is also low and needs to be replaced as well.
