What Causes Weight Gain During Pregnancy?

My sister is 36 weeks pregnant, she used meth (with needle) multiple times a week and she finally stopped last week, she has gained 30lbs during pregnancy but we are worried still about the baby. If she stays clean what can we hope to expect? (she is still pregnant, no signs of early labor)

Hi I think you should go for a ultrasound to see the baby weight. It will tell you the approximate weight of the baby. You can wait till 40 weeks for normal labour if everything is normal on ultrasound and her pelvic examination is normal. Consult a gynecologist for complete examination. Hope it helps.
