Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 68 yr old person who is taking actos for fatty liver disease. I also am taking trulicity for diabetes. I have noticed a fast weight gain since taking actos, especially in lower body hips and legs. Have never been heavy in legs or hips. Would it be the actos doing this.
Hello, thank you for trusting HCM. As I can read from your question, I can tell you that Actos can cause weight gain. I think that in your case, your weight gain is probably caused by Actos: it usually induces water retention, so this is the reason of swollen legs. This effect could be dangerous in a person with heart failure, so in people who suffer from this condition it is non recommended. I hope my answer is clear and complete. Best regards Dr.ssa Naibo E.
