Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Bupropion is an antidepressant medication used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder. It can improve your mood and feelings of well-being by helping to restore the balance of certain natural chemicals (neurotransmitters) in your brain. Commonly reported side effects with use of bupropion include: insomnia, nausea, weight loss, pharyngitis, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. It is not known to be associated with weight gain. Hence, your weight gain problem could be as a result of depo preparation, since they are steroid hormonal in nature, they could lead to weight gain because of sodium and water retention in the body. It would be ideal for you to control weight through diet and exercise. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
