Weight gain after thyroidectomy indicates a relatively lower thyroid hormone levels due to insufficient replacement levels. fT3/fT4 and TSH levels must be checked.
You must not increase or decrease Eltroxin intake without your doctor's consent after blood tests. You may cause hypo/hyperthyroidism which can both be dangerous for you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

What Causes Weight Gain While On Eltroxin For Thyroid?
Hi, Weight gain after thyroidectomy indicates a relatively lower thyroid hormone levels due to insufficient replacement levels. fT3/fT4 and TSH levels must be checked. If thyroid function tests are normal, other weight gain conditions must be checked (type 2 diabetes mellitus, sedentary lifestyle, depression, etc.). You must not increase or decrease Eltroxin intake without your doctor s consent after blood tests. You may cause hypo/hyperthyroidism which can both be dangerous for you.
