What Causes Weight Gain While On Levothyroxine?

Hi, I am a fit 36 year old male. My problem is last year i noticed a severe weight gain. I run and train every day eat good. I have asthma and need inhailors every day. I found levothyroxin on the internet from china. it has droped lots of weight of me. but recently I am finding im getting very chesty for even sitting. when i run I feel like an over weght person can herdly breath. i take 600 mg every day. any thoughts

Well, what a situation to be in! Please see a physician for guidance on this. What you have done essentially is add thyroid hormone to a body that wa already working fine or maybe just needed a little tweaking. When you take hormones that you don't need, it makes that gland lazier and it stops working as well and the level of your OWN hormone production went down. With these drugs you order from overseas you frequently run into getting inconsistent dosages in the supplies you order. Now, I suggest that you have a full thyoid panel done including the testing for any auto-antibodies to your own hormone. The doctor will have to work with you to withdraw you off of the drug from China while still testing your thyroid to keep everything in balance. It will be a slow road to recovery, but if you work with a doctor through this process, it will be safer and far more effective. Please do not order drugs from overseas; contamination; placebo pills; inconsistent dosage; outdated; not regulated. To your healing . . .
