Hi um I ve been having stomach problems you see I know I am not pregnant because I ve never been sexually active. But I ve been gaining weight and cannot figure out why, because I do yoga everyday and before yoga I am at the gym doing other exercises like mostly sports nothing with weights. But the on top of the weight gain I ve have been experiencing pain when laying on my stomach it is my upper middle stomach and I ve been experiencing it for months and just yesterday out of no where my stomach started feeling like there was acid burning a hole through it. I don t know if it was because I missed breakfast that morning but I think I would feel alot better with an professional opinion on what might be wrong?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Weight gain in your case can be: - Excessive eating, hyper-acidity, indigestion and constipation - Eating high carb diet (sweets, fat food, oily and spicy food) - Conditions like PCOD (has accompanied menstrual problems) / hypothyroidism. This needs to be investigated under a doctor's guidance.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
