Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI, My daughter married an overweight man. Her was about 250 pounds. He has gained more and is at least 300 poubds. Since the weigh tgain he sweats profusely and smells like cheese. He happens to eat alot of cheese. We cannot get him to diet. What is causing the awful smell of his sweat? Thank you
Welcome to HCM, Overweight individuals have a difficult time with managing odor from keeping skin folds clean and dry. Very frequently a cheesey odor may come from a yeast infection that commonly affects the folds of the skin and will cause a red rash. It needs to be treated with yeast cream and dried in front of a fan before the fold of skin is allowed to drop.
Diet, also, will affect sweat smell. I am sure you have smelled nervous sweat and sweat produced by heat. Food oils and processed foods can seep out through the skin glands. Medications can make sweat, urine and feces smell very bad.
Those are some of the most common reasons for smell problems in someone with obesity issues. I hope I have helped. Regards, Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN
Hell madam! he should look after his diet. He should exercise daily to lose fat and have a good lifestyle and hygiene. As he is fat even some daily routines make him sweat. Exercise improve physical and mental health. Best regards.
