What Causes Weight Loss After Taking Olmesar-H?
i am loosing weight after taking of olmesar H 40 teblet and my bp comes to near 120/80. is it ok? earlier to this i was taking only olmesr 40 tablet and my bp was always recorded near to 150/90 so doctor has advised to take olmesar H 40. my age is 58 years

It could be due to the additional medicine Hydrochlorothiazide.
Incomplete data like gender, presence of any associated medical illness like heart failure, thyroid problem, etc.
The recently measured BP of 120/80 is normal.
Since your BP was not controlled with Olmesar (Olmesartan) 40 alone, hence your treating physician has prescribed a combination of
Telmisartan + Hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic or "water pill") to lower the uncontrolled BP.
Hydrochlorothiazide can cause weight loss provided if you had weight gain secondary to edema caused by heart problem as it reduces extra fluid in the body.
However, I would advise you to consult your treating physician for further evaluation to rule out other causes of weight loss such a chronic inflammatory disease or hormonal disorder or heart problem.
