I just discovered a lump in the center of my chest where the rib cage comes together. It feels like a bump in the bone structure, not painful or overtly swollen. I have lost a great deal of weight in the last year and maybe this is just something anatomical I never saw before but it is concerning. I am a 48 year old male

welcome to hcm ..as the swelling is non painful then you have to undergo chest xray ap view and lateral view also undergo lab tests as TLC DLC ESR and RA factor if all are negative then please undergo FNAC fine needle aspiration cytology un which a small piece of this swelling will be taken to check the nature of swelling i am sure that with these tests you will get diagnosis had it been trauma induced then it must have been painful
