What Causes Weight Loss And Pain In The Legs While On Oxycodone?
I have a friend who has been on oxycodone39mg for almost 9 years and drinks hard liquor daily, Lately she has lost about 30 lbs and has had tummy problems, She just had her doctor visit last week and he ordered a lower G,I . done. Now for the past 4 or 5 days her lower legs , from her knees down to her toes has been hurting her really bad! Sometimes to the point of tears, and trying to drive her car ,with a clutch has become too painful. What could this possibly be , or the cause of it?
Noted the history about your friend taking Oxycodone for 9 years, drinks hard liquor, now has unbearable pain below knee. The pain in legs below knee aea can be due to the following reasons: DVT that is deep vein thrombosis. Varicose veins. Muscular problems. This is urgent to get an ultrasonography and color doppler of both the limbs so that a proper diagnosis can be done and your Doctor can help her the best to get a proper management. If possible weaning from Oxycodone will be a great idea. Also needed is to get a proper diagnosis for the loss of weight. Consult a Doctor so that a proper battery of investigations like that of thyroid, cancer, autoimmune disease, liver and kidney functions etc can be done and if something is found be treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
