I AM CONCERNED ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS WITHOUT DIET CHANGES. I VE ALWAY THOUGHT UNEXPLAINED WEIGHT LOSS CAN BE THE FIRST SIGH OF A CANCER IN THE BODY. I AM FEMALE 61 NONSMOKER VERY ACTIVE LIFE STYLE. ON NO MEDICATIONS OF ANY KIND, HAVE HAD CHEST X-RAY, BLOOD WORK DONE AND A BONE SCANE AND MAMAGRAHM AND UNTRA SOUND ARE SCHEDUALED FOR MARCH. AM I BEING PROACTIVE ENOUGH??

It is understandable to be concerned about unintentional weight loss. You are being proactive enough by screening for possible dangerous causes.

The blood tests should include a complete blood count and also a inflammatory marker (esr, c reactive protein).
The inflammatory markers go up if there is any reason for inflammation in the body and would be elevated in cancer.
