What Causes Weird Sensation In The Throat And Head Upon Using Clorox?
I have been cleaning all day and wiped my counter with Clorox after cooking this evening. I accidentally ingested a small amount from my hand after touching food and now have a weird sensation in my throat, lips, and head. Do I need medical attention or am I stressing out and imagining it? Thanks
The dose you consumed isn't toxic or fatal levels however local allergic reaction can occur. Some times caustic effects of the chemicals may cause local burning sensation or irritation but will recover with time. If large quantity intake is suspected, a chest X-ray and an otolaryngologist or gastroenterologist review is suggested for any local signs of chemical burns. Meanwhile, drinking cold milk can be helpful. Antihistamines like cetirizine can be used for irritation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
