What Causes Weird Sounds In The Mouth While Sleeping?
Hi, I m a 22 years old female and I m having some issues with my boyfriend over some form of parasomnia. He says he wakes up through the night to me masturbating and making sexual noises. He believes I m dreaming about another man and is now making him feel insecure and that he doesn t satisfy me sexually. When he wakes me up, I am none the wiser. I have no recollection of doing it through the night and absolutely don t have dreams of any other men. It s putting a strain on the relationship and so I m looking for some advice. Is there anything to prevent this from happening again?
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your query.
Making weird sounds at night is a medical condition called Catathrenia. The affected person makes strange sounds while exhaling.
You are suggested to see a Psychiatrist? counselor, you may need CPAP or oral appliance. After getting clinically examined & assessed your treating GP may suggest you surgery if required.
Your partner should understand that it is sleep disordered breathing. Stay away from anxiety, stress, fatigue. Avoid alcohol, smoking & from substance abuse.
Hope I have answered your query. Take care. Regards, Dr Nupur K
