I m a 53-yo male, no serious medical conditions or history. Last couple of days have noticed an occasional weird throb in right front of my neck, seemingly near the right carotid artery. Bouts last several minutes where the weird throb will pulse every 45-60 seconds or so, then the episode goes away. Have noticed while sitting or lying down. When it occurs, the throb seems to coincide with my pulse.

What Causes Weird Throb On The Neck?
- CAN BE ARTERIAL OR VENOUS MINOR/SMALL ANEURYSM. - UNLESS SYMPTOMATIC NOTHING TO WORRY - MAY BE A DEFECT IN THE BLOOD VESSEL WALL- I VE SEEN PATIENTS WHO HAVE SWELLING WHICH PULSATES AND INCREASING ON DOING VALSALVA BUT ASYMPTOMATIC. - A LYMPH NODE ABOVE A BLOOD VESSEL ASKING IT TO PULSATE- IN THIS CASE AS YOUR INFECTION SETTLES, THE SWELLING WILL SETTLE IF IT IS NOT INCREASING IN SIZE, LEAVE IT ALONE. IF CAUSING PAIN OR ANY OTHER NEUROLOGICAL SYMPTOMS - HAVE IT EVALUATED.
