Hi,

Wheezing and shortness of breath are common symptoms of asthma, a chronic respiratory disease characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways. In asthma, the airways become overly sensitive to certain triggers, such as allergens, cold air, exercise, or irritants like smoke or strong odors. When exposed to these triggers, the airways become inflamed, causing the muscles around them to constrict and narrow, making it difficult to breathe.

In your case, it seems that your asthma has become more severe and your current medication (Ventolin) is not providing enough relief. It is important to see your doctor or a pulmonologist for a proper evaluation and management of your asthma. Your doctor may recommend adjusting your medication regimen or prescribing additional medications to control your symptoms.

In addition to medication, several lifestyle modifications can help manage asthma symptoms, such as avoiding triggers, maintaining a healthy weight, and practicing good sleep habits. Your doctor can provide you with a comprehensive asthma action plan that includes both medication and lifestyle modifications tailored to your specific needs.

It is also important to seek medical attention if you experience a severe or sudden onset of asthma symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, chest pain or tightness, or bluish lips or nails, as these may indicate a medical emergency.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
