Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The skin on and around my toes are peeling and white and flaky. I am wondering why and how can I treat it. I have had it for about a year now. I thought maybe I had a foot fungus, so I used a toenail fungus over the counter medicine. Sometime later, I noticed the peeling, so I quit using the medicine. Any suggestions?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have white and flaky skin around the toes. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like heat, cold and even dry weather allergic reactions , dermatitis , athlete’s Foot , trench Foot or eczema . I would suggest you to keep your feet clean and dry , apply over the counter anti fungal cream , take anti histamine like benadryl twice a day and avoid wearing socks and shoe for few days . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticoreroid ointment or antibiotics.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
