What Causes White Bumps On The Tonsils In A Regular Weed Smoker?

Hey there, I m a chronic weed smoker and I have white bumps on my tonsils and the back of my throat, they aren t very mad and don t look like strep throat, they look more like open sores with a little bit of pus. I can t find any pics online that look the same. They really hurt and it s hard to swallow but they aren t incredibly swollen, what can I do to subside the pain?

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain white bumps on the tonsils can be due to bacterial infection causing Pustular tonsilitis..
Secondly it they are persistent and are in the form of hard bumps then they can also be tonsil stones..

For confirmation consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT expert and get evaluated..
He can do investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

In case if there is infection you can be advised antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain, doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving, suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat, gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
Completely stop smoking as it can add up to inflammation..
In case of tonsil stones gargling with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water and avoiding excess of dairy products can help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
