What Causes White Coat Hypertension?

I have high blood pressure in the dr. office..... however at home it runs between 125-138 over 70-88 in the dr officeit was 178-88..... the dr. prescribed a diuretic .... if I began to take them will I always need to take them in othe words will I become dependent on the bp med.

eg:don't wary at all blood pressure increase du to fear and when you relaxed be normal no need for treatment only fluid and relaxation follow blood pressure measure at home
