As per your query you have white coating on your tongue . Well the symptoms you mention in query are probably due to a fungal infection known as oral thrush . It is also called oral candiasis because it is caused by a group of yeasts called Candida. There can be many reasons for this like dry mouth , excessive use of antibiotics , use of corticosteroids and poor oral hygiene . I seems to me that in your case dryness of mouth is one of the reasons . I would sugest you to consult oral pathologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe antifungal medicine ( fluconazole ) oral or topical . For now maintain proper oral hygiene , keep yourself hydrate and avoid hot and spicy food .

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
