Hi I was diagnosed with pityriasis rosea two weeks back and now it is completely gone.
I had a diahrea for a week ( may be because of the antibiotic which was prescribed for Rosea) and now white coating on my toungue persists. What may be the reason
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your query white coating over the tongue with a history of taking antibiotics seems to be most commonly due to yeast infection in mouth known as Oral Thrush and is caused by candida albicans fungus.. You should consult an Oral Phisycian and get evaluated and in case if thrush is confirmed as the cause he can advise you to gargle with Nystatin mouthwash, suck on anti-fungal lozenges and take more of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic.. If it does not improve in 15 days oral anti-fungals like Fluconazole or Itraconazole etc can be advised.. You should drink plenty of water as thrush can cause dry mouth.. Avoid antimicrobial mouthwash.. Maintain a good oral hygiene..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
