What Causes White Creamy Drainage From Ear Along With Itching?

two weeks ago I have taken amoxicillin to treat an ear infection it did nothing I stopped the course. After that I was given ciprofloxacin 500mg three times a day and ciloxan ear drops two drops three times a day the pain got much better and my ear felt less blocked. I went back to my GP a had an ear swab it came back clean (normal) I was told by my doctor friend that I should have had the ear swab before the antibiotics other wise it won t show anything. My ear after one week it feels itchy a used a cotton bud in order to scratch it a bit (even though I promised my self no to do that and I regret it now) so at the moment I feel my ear itchy white creamy discharge on the cotton bud came out of my ear and it feels blocked itchy with some pain. can you tell me what it may be

Hi there.. go back to your GP. And just as your doctor friend advised , get the GP to use a sterile ear swab and collect the discharge. Send it for culture and sensitivity. Its not just important to know what is growing, but more important to know by the drug sensitivity report, which antibiotic is actually effective in ridding the bacteria/ fungi that causing infection. So no medications without culture and sensitivity.
