What Causes White Discharge From Vagina During Pregnancy?
I am leaking a white discharge from my vagina, and i wear pads to keep it from my underwear. Lately though it has started to get bumps and been very irritating. I was wondering if it was from the pads and not getting enough air? or maybe cause the discharge is on the outside now as well? I am 40 weeks pregnant and very nervous . Could i have caught something?
Vaginal discharge depends upon a hormone called as oestrogen. During pregnancy, this hormone increases manifold and hence there is increased vaginal discharge. However, this is a clear mucous discharge and does not cause any symptoms. If it is becoming uncomfortable for you, you may use panty liners instead of pads. The pads might have caused soreness to your private parts.
However, if the discharge is white in colour, causing itching and pain, it is due to either fungal or trichomonal infection. In that case, you have to report to your Obstetrician to get it properly diagnosed and treated.
I hope you have got the required guidance.
