What Causes White Flesh Like Stuff Inside The Tooth Socket?
My son lost a canine tooth tooth. It didn't bleed much but now he has white fleshy stuff there in socket instead of a tooth. It looks like a tooth and thought it was his new one coming in but when you touch it it is soft and mushy. Could it be infection?
As per your complain white flesh like stuff inside the socket after loss of tooth can be a healing tissue formed in the socket post loss of tooth.
The blood clot formed in the extraction socket undergoes various remodelling stages so that the extraction socket is filled up with the tissue and gradually becomes a part of normal anatomy [structure] of the jaw.
It is an essential part in the healing of extraction socket..
You should not touch it or try to dislodge it as if it is lost healing will not progress and will lead to a painful condition known as "Dry Socket"
It is not a sign of infection and need not to worry..
Feed your son with a soft diet and plenty of fluids.. Maintain a good Oral hygiene..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
